Joanna Szymanski, LPC
Hello and welcome to the Healing Dialogue web page. My name is Jo and I am the founder and lead therapist at Healing Dialogue, LLC. Originally from CT, I obtained my Master of Science, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of La Verne in California in 2014. From there I worked in Bennington, Vermont at, United Counseling Service, an outpatient clinic working primarily with individuals reintegrating into the community from incarceration. While at UCS, I became a certified tobacco treatment specialist from the American Cancer Association and ran groups in the community. I also obtained my level 1 Open Dialogue training in 2018 and my WRAP facilitator training in 2016. I became licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in CT in 2018. I have obtained ceritification as a Trauma Treatment Professional and also with Grief Therapy.
I primarily see individuals and couples ages 17-60 who suffer with PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, adjustment, social phobias and substance use disorders. I enjoy working with clients who are seeking to better their lives and I enjoy reflecting that growth back to my clients. I also help my clients develop their coping skills through mindfulness and guided imagery techniques as well as CBT and motivational interviewing.
Currently, I am a Certified Mindfulness Informed Professional (CMIP) since April 2025. This certification allows me to practice Mindful Hypnosis Treatment. This is an 8 session or 3 session series of hypnosis to achieve a greater sense of mindfulness and help you reach your goals through hypnosis tackling Burn Out, anxiety, PTSD, Depression, ADHD, Strength Training, smoking cessation and more. Please inquire to see if Mindful Hypnosis is right for you.
